Lavender Lemonade

The other day I needed something thirst quenching but nothing was quite cutting it. So I decided to make some good old-fashioned lemonade only with a twist, so I added some lavender to it and it turned out quite delicious. The addition of lavender’s heady and herbaceous perfume made it unique and special (please note a little goes a long way so make sure not to overdo it on the lavender). There is nothing better than a cool glass of lemonade on a hot summer day. Here is the recipe if you are a lemonade and/or lavender fan and if you are not a lavender fan then you can always leave it out.

 Ingredients:

3 Cups Water

1/8 Cup Lavender Buds

¼ Cup Agave Nectar or Simple Syrup

3 Lemons Freshly Juiced

Yields: 3-4 Cups

Instructions:

In a small saucepan, combine 2 Cups of the water and the lavender. Bring to a boil, covered, for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes, then uncover, and set aside to cool.

Strain the lavender water into a serving pitcher and discard the cooked lavender. Add the rest of the water, agave nectar, and lemon juice and stir well. Refrigerate until cool.

Until next time.

Enjoy!
